This poster series was inspired by Barbara Kruger and by some of the appalling quotes I found as I conducted research into equality for women's sports. These posters are intended to be the advertising for my project, they are out in public, invoking anger, and starting conversations. They take a quote describing why someone believes female athletes don't deserve equal pay and juxtapose it with an image of a female athlete proving exactly why they do in fact deserve equality in every sense.
This was the first iteration of these posters, I have since redesigned them.
The other piece of this project is a social media campaign. I wanted to reach as many people as I could with this project and this seemed like the most effective solution. This instagram does exactly what I mentioned in my intro, it tells the stories of the women who shaped the games we all love and who never had their stories told.
